Sunte hain ek chiragn jala dekhte chalein”
(Again on the target of storms and amidst the darkness, we listen that a candle was lighted. Let us walk to see).
The history goes back prior to 1917 when “The Gaya Muslim Orphanage” was not established. It was at this stage, the whole locality was groping in the darkness of illiteracy. The entire area owed it’s literacy to the then Landlords and the other opponents did not want to the people of their locality to get educated as they feared that a revolution might take place and engulf them in its grip. Moreover, the landlords used oppressive and reckless measures, against the so called “Commoners” Enayeth khan was visibly moved to see the masses living under the bondage of slavery. As a benevolent person he could not put up with the suffering of masses. He established “The Gaya Musllim Orphanage” in October 1917, with the assistance of two orphan boys and a teacher in fifty paise (50 paise) monthly rented cottage. With the establishment of the “The Gaya Muslim Orphanage”, Enayeth khan’s dream was fulfilled. However, another major obstacle stood in his way, which was that of establishing an institution for the girls. Late Enayeth khan was on a noble mission to serve humanity, the oppressed and the depressed ones. Enayeth khan had a compassionate dream. He dreamed that a Girls’ Orphanage be established and that too in his native village. He expressed his willingness in his letter of 1938.
“nahin tera nasheman Quasre sultani ke gumbad par
Tu shaheen hai basera kar paharon ke chattano Mein”
(Your residence is not on the skyscrapers of the emperors. You are the eagle. Do survive in the caves of the mountains.)
For the betterment and dignified existence of the followers of Islam and for the education and training of the new generation. It is an important and fundamental requirement to establish educational institutions where the modern education as well as Islamic education including the Qur’an and the Sunnah could be provided. The Muslim community as we all know, is globally passing through a crisis which assumes more and more serious dimensions with each passing day. The remedy, of course, does not lie in resorting to escapism, pessimism and cowardice. Swimming with the tides does not befit the Islamic personality because the religion of Islam has not come for the cowards and dastards. Brave are those who turn even hostile tides to their advantages without being misadventurous. It is for the community to take the challenges with a combination of act and perseverance and convert disadvantages into opportunity for growth and development. The key to success in this world and world after death lies in using the right mix of faith and wisdom. Only then we can retain our distinct Islamic identity.
According to the statement of Late Janab Maulana Mahmoodul Hasan sb. (Aseer-e-Malta) “ Let the Holy Qur’an be popularized both through words and deeds. The seats of learning must be established in each and every village.” Another great Islamic thinker and social reformer Janab Maulana Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi Sb. (Ali Mian) even exhorted the Muslims to launch Jehad with a difference and said,“ The greatest crusade of the present time is to establish religious schools in each and every village".
Siyaah raat ki tarikiyon" ke rakhwalo
Tulu-e-mahr jahan taab kaun Rokega”
(O’ the keepers of the darkness of the dark night, who will stop the rising of the moon the light emitter to the world.)
Our ancestors had been brought up in the cradle of those mothers who had been completely maintained in the environment of Islamic culture and tradition. The Qur’an and Islam were observed in their mentality since their childhood. So they produced such type of youth of Islam of whom, we the Muslims and the Islamic history are proud. A pious mother gives birth to a pious generation. An Arabic scholar has said, “The mother is an institution, Cultivate good mothers and get a better and pious generation. “Another Arabic scholar has said, "if you teach a boy, you teach a person. If you teach a girl you teach a nation".

100 years ago when the people of Bihar were plunged into the darkness of illiteracy and the people thought education to be Infructuous, the founder of “The Gaya Muslim Orphanage” Late Enayeth khan thought of revamping the society, particularly that of the girls. In those days the girls Were thought to be a Curse For the society. (No body Bothered about them and they were thought to be neglected lot in the Society. This sad plight of the girls haunted his mind and kept him restless as no such institution particularly, for the girl existed throughout the state of Bihar. Hence, the need was felt seriously since 1938.
The year 1938 was really a testing time for the late founder. It was in this year that Enayeth khan had to confront with many hurdles and obstacles. But he was not daunted by those odds. Just five or six years before his death, quite young at heart. At this critical stage he thought of establishing a Girls’ orphanage and even donated one Bigha (741/2) decimal of land for this purpose, but nobody came forward to fulfill this noble mission. Unfortunately, he could not live long to see his dream becoming a reality. At last on the 30th December, 1970 he set out for his heavenly abode to meet his Allah, the benefactor and the savior of the entire Universe, praying that—
“Ya Ilahi ta Qayamat ye chaman taaza rahe
Har shajar, har nakhl iss ka phoolta-phalta rahe”
(O, Allah! May this garden be flourished till the dooms day. May every tree and every branch of this garden be flourished and blossomed.)
“Inna-Lillahi-wa-Inna Ilaihi-Rajiun” he was buried under the shade of the Gaya Muslim Orphanage’s mosque.
Thus written the founder in his letter on the 3rd October 1938.
“From January 1939, a Girls’ section of “The Gaya Muslim Orphanage” be established to impart education, a lady teacher be recruited and for the purpose. “Kolowna” would be the suitable place.”
A view of the foundation of the building complex

Ho zauque chamankari dil mein, to phoolon ke ambar bahut
(Although the destination is very difficult and the ways are full of thorns, If you have an ambition of floral decoration in your heart then there are many heaps of flowers.)
The noble dream of Enayeth khan was turned into reality by Mr. Iqbal Ahmad khan the founder’s Grandson who established “The Gaya Muslim GIRLS' Orphanage” on the 21st December 1986, with three orphan girls in a rented tiled house at the founder’s native village, “Kolowna”. Which was whenever an abode of snakes, scorpions, animals and the birds, has now been purchased. Thus with Allah’s blessing the mission of Enayeth khan got accomplished. The renowned poet Allama Iqbal says:
“Ishq ne aabad kar dalein hain dasht-o-Kohsar”
(Love has inhabited the forests and the mountains)
